Apple's iPad 2 went on sale in Japan today, with customers intent on snapping up the latest version of the popular tablet.
More than 400 people lined-up at Apple's Tokyo to get their hands on the new gadget.
Some buyers said the thinner, lighter and faster iPad was something definitely worth queueing up for.
'I want to get it as soon as possible so I can show it off to my friends, so I don't mind lining up from early in the morning,' said a 49-year-old business consultant, Yukihiko Hata.
Japan is the 27th country to introduce iPad 2 -- but still the first in Asia before Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore.
Japan was originally set to be included in the second round of overseas launches on March 25, but was delayed due to the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan
